How to choose the right type of label?

Although at first it may seem that there are so many types of stickers and it can be difficult to choose the right one, in reality it is easy to navigate them, all you have to do is understand the main types and the differences between them. Then, knowing the way and conditions of applying the label, all that remains is to choose the most appropriate one.

We can distinguish three main types of labels, some of which can be printed with a thermal transfer printer without additional thermal transfer ribbon, others only with such ribbons. It is recommended to take this into account when choosing a printer, we recommend that you take one that is also designed for working with ribbon, it can save you unpleasant surprises and additional expenses when purchasing an additional printer in the future.

Thermo ECO and Thermo TOP

Thermal paper for printing without thermal transfer ribbon. However, it does not provide high durability.

Thermal ECO

Over time, over 6 months, light may react and the printed information may no longer be visible. Can be used for quick sales in dry rooms, not in direct sunlight.

Thermo TOP

Resistant to humidity, temperature changes and mechanical impact. Universal (Versatile), widely used label at a good price, can also be used for marking deliveries in logistics and marking goods on automatic scales.

Matte and glossy paper

Can only be printed with thermal transfer tape. Resistant to external environments and temperature changes. Durability indicators are higher than for Termo TOP and Termo EKO materials, also in resistance to weathering. Recommended for long-term storage products, also at low temperatures and for labeling supplies in logistics.

Plastic stickers

Synthetic material - film. There can be several subtypes:

PP - Polypropylene

PE - Polyethylene

The main characteristics of all subtypes are very high durability, resistant to scratches, mechanical impact, moisture and moisture, do not fade, do not break. High resistance to temperature changes. Thanks to these properties, they are perfect for long-lasting products, even at low temperatures. Suitable for products where the label is subject to prolonged and strong mechanical action.
